Practising The Way - By John Mark Comer

Our culture is distracted, fragmented, and hurried. Many of us are simply too busy and exhausted to have a meaningful life with God.
We need what Dallas Willard called a “curriculum for Christlikeness” – a clear path to being formed by Jesus in the modern era, rather than being counter-formed by a culture that skims near the surface.

This is where Practising The Way by John Mark Comer fits in. John Mark Comer is a teacher and writer. For nearly two decades, he was the founding pastor at Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon. The church spent many years working out discipleship to Jesus in the post-Christian West, and organized the community around a simple idea: practicing the Way of Jesus together.

After leading a five-year initiative around spiritual formation they called “Practicing the Way,” he stepped away from his role in 2021 to create simple, beautiful formation resources for church communities around the world.

Practising The Way will help you step forward into 2026 through developing:
A community of rest in a culture of hurry and exhaustion, through the practice of Sabbath.
A community of communion with God in a culture of distraction and escapism, through the practice of prayer.
A community of holiness in a culture of indulgence and immorality, through the practice of fasting.
A community of peace and quiet in a culture of anxiety and noise, through the practice of solitude.
A community of contentment in a culture of consumerism, through the practice of generosity.
A community of courageous fidelity to orthodoxy in a culture of ideological compromise, through the practice of Scripture.
A community of love and depth in a cultureof individualism and superficiality, through the practice of community.
A community of justice, mercy, and reconciliation in a culture of injustice and division, through the practice of service.
A community of hospitality in a culture of hostility, through the practice of witness.

We are looking to commence this group in the week of February 15 (on either the Tuesday or Wednesday evening)
