Way of Life 2024 - Study 2: Share & Rest
General Background
This week we concluded the two week series called "Way of Life.”
In this series we explored some of the unique ways that we at New Community live out our walk with Jesus. We recognise that there are numerous distractions and challenges to following Him. Our Way of Life gives a framework for sustaining a life that conforms to the way of Jesus.
Specific Questions
This week we explored two key practises in our 'Way of Life,' that of Share and Rest.
Re read the passage from Acts 2:44-47
And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other, selling their possessions and dividing with those in need. They worshiped together regularly at the Temple each day, met in small groups in homes for Communion, and shared their meals with great joy and thankfulness, praising God. The whole city was favorable to them, and each day God added to them all who were being saved.
1. Andrew encouraged us to share moments with people maybe by listening, loving, praying for or caring for people. Looking at the past week in what ways have you shared moments with people? In what ways could you share moments with people throughout this coming week.
2. Jesus often shared meals with people. Why is sharing meals with people so important? Who could you share a meal with this week?
3. Jesus shared his life with people. In a crisis he turned to his friends - who do you turn to in a crisis? Who has your telephone number do they know they can call you in crisis? Who would you call in a crisis? Who do you know that is lonely and could do with being part of community? Who could you invite into New Community?
4. What life to share activity are you planning to be involved with this weekend?
5. Ali spoke of the fourth component of the 'Way of Life' - that of rest. How do you rest? Where do go to rest?
