Food Bank Freezer Cooking Instructions

To assist in safely handling meals and managing the stock, please note these guidelines:
 
Packaging 
 
Package meals in airtight containers for freezing
Portion meals in either family-sized or individual portions
Label the meals with:
o    The contents or name of the meal
o    All of the ingredients used
o    The date the meal was cooked
o    Gluten free, if applicable
o    Vegetarian, if applicable
 
Delivering Meals
 
  • Bring your frozen meals in a freezer bag on any Sunday and pop them in the freezer, which is located in the kitchen in the old school building near the staff offices. 
  • If you prefer to drop off mid-week, please email yvonne@ncr.org.au to arrange a time. 
 
Food Safety 
 
While not mandatory, you are welcome to complete the free food safety course online or even browse the topics as a refresher, to ensure the meals we provide to our community meet food safety standards - DoFoodSafely (health.vic.gov.au)
