2. The writer of Esther seems to have left God out of the story. This may be a clever way of asking the reader to search harder for the evidence of God in the every things of life? Where do you see God present in the story even if God is not mentioned?
3. Have there been times in your life when God seemed absent? What was that like? Did God become evident eventually?
4. Read Psalm 121. What does it say about God's presence?
5. How might needing to search for God's presence or look harder grow greater faith in us?
6. Mordecai puts a big request to Esther in 4:8 and again in 4:13-14. What was the possible cost to Esther in these requests?
